Experience

Dr Jessica Rankine is a U.K.trained GP. She graduated from University College London Medical School and attained an intercalated BSc in Global Health.

After graduating, she moved to work in Scotland for two years with experience in general medicine, psychiatry, emergency medicine, care of the elderly and general surgery. She returned to London to qualify as a GP, working at University Hospital Lewisham in paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology, public health, emergency medicine and in two busy city GP practices. This gave her a comprehensive experience and range of skills. She developed a special interest in women’s health, including family planning and sexual health.

Over this period, she attained a Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners, along with Diplomas from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare. With the added skillset as an IUS/IUCD/Implant fitter, she brings a wealth of experience to her practice.

An interest in island medicine took Dr Jessica to Rarotonga Hospital on the Cook Islands as a student. Later, as a GP, she undertook a year-long fellowship on the Scottish island Arran. This involved working in regular GP clinics and the small but busy GP-run acute hospital, where she was the senior clinician in charge of inpatients and covering all Emergency Department attendances.
