Experience

Dr Trishna Shimpi is a Consultant Radiologist with extensive experience in Breast Imaging, Intervention and General Radiology. Her Radiology journey commenced at Jaslok Hospital, Mumbai, where she collaborated with eminent Radiologists, laying the foundation for an illustrious career path. Her pursuit to grow led her to Singapore and the UK, where she earned a master's in medicine (MMed) degree from the National University of Singapore.(NUS) in Diagnostic Radiology and attained the Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists (FRCR) in the UK.

Demonstrating a dedication to specialization, she underwent two years of Advanced specialist training in Singapore, honing her breast imaging expertise. Never one to rest on her laurels, she pursued her goal for subspeciality training in breast imaging undertaking a one-year fellowship in breast imaging and intervention at the University of Toronto, Canada. This experience provided her with a wealth of knowledge and acquire latest skills in the field of breast cancer diagnosis and treatment. During her tenure, she worked with distinguished figures in breast imaging, breast cancer care and research at Princess Margaret Hospital, Mount Sinai Hospital, Women's College Hospital, University of Toronto, Canada.

She was the former Head, Breast Imaging, at the Department of Diagnostic Radiology, Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH), currently holds the position of Visiting Consultant and also is a mammographic assessor for the Assessment center, Breast Screen Singapore (BSS) program. In this leadership role at KTPH, she contributed to advancing the standards of breast imaging and intervention and was instrumental to start a one stop fast track breast clinic for breast cancer patients.

With a strong focus on state-of-the-art breast imaging and interventional techniques, she specializes in 3D mammography, various ultrasound techniques, contrast-enhanced mammography, breast MRI, imaging-guided vacuum biopsy and excisions as well as preoperative image guided procedures.

Dr Trishna is an enthusiastic educator, previously affiliated with the DUKE-NUS Residency program, also awarded with best Teacher award for Post graduate training at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, Singapore, Year 2016-2017. She has been a speaker at both local and international Radiological conferences, has actively engaged in sharing her expertise with fellow professionals, spearheaded General Practitioners seminars and webinars collaborating with Hospital groups and Singapore Radiological Society, Breast subsection.

She has been actively involved in various breast cancer awareness drives organized by the Breast Cancer Foundation in Singapore as well as overseas over the past few years and was invited to serve as an expert panelist for the Breast Cancer Foundation's awareness event on International Women's Day, 2023. This platform allows her to share valuable insights, contribute to the ongoing conversation around breast cancer and inspire positive change.
